The industry standard for retained executive search firms is that any client represented within the last two years of a search assignment completion is "off limits" or "out of bounds" for any recruiting efforts of any member, of any part, of that client's organization.
In addition, the newly minted executive is considered "evergreen" or "off - limits" for the duration the newly minted executive is a member of that former client's organization.
It is unethical for a retained search firm to represent an organization in its search efforts to recruit any member from the client's organization within the two year "off - limits" period.
Ours Firm's "off-limits" policy is guided by the client active relationship period. We will never attempt to recruit any member from our client's organization as long extend indefinitely for the period the client remains an active client plus five years thereafter.
When a search firm identifies, creates, and receives confirmed interest from a recruited executive for a specific client opportunity, the search firm is NOT to present that executive to any other client in the event the search firm is representing another client with similiar requirements.
Presenting the same executive as a prospective candidate to any other firm client while the executive is "under consideration" is referred to as "parallel processing" and is in our consideration an unethical practice.
We guarantee our clients this practice will never be undertaken - period.
